Writers: John Updike is a documentary profiling the writing career of American novelist, short story writer, and poet John Updike. The film uses interview footage of the writer to provide an overview of his work, paying special attention to the author's novels. Updike was born in Shillington, PA, in 1932. Some of his best-loved novels include Rabbit, Run, Rabbit Redux, Rabbit Is Rich, and Rabbit at Rest. These books follow Harry "Rabbit" Angstrom through a golden youth and period of sexual discovery, social upheavals, middle age, and eventual heartbreaking decline.
