Synopsis by Janiss Garza
Mary, a modest but pretty school teacher (Gladys Hulette), is loved by a wealthy young man (Edward Earle). But Mary's guardian (Carlton King) is a religious fanatic who lusts after the girl himself. When he finds out about Mary's romance, he confronts the young man and shoves him off a precipice. His legs are paralyzed and, confined to a wheelchair, he watches Mary's activities with the use of binoculars. Because her guardian claims that he attacked Mary's sweetheart to save her soul, her reputation is ruined and she is fired from her teaching position. As the young man spies through his binoculars, the guardian attacks Mary and she faints onto the railroad tracks. A train (naturally) is heading her way and the young man -a religious skeptic up until now -- prays for help. With a sudden effort, he regains the use of his legs and dashes to save his girl's life. The guardian comes to a bad end and the couple are finally able to wed.
