Synopsis by Hal Erickson
"The Woman," played by Marie Shotwell, is a widow living in the Little Italy section of New York. "The Beast" is a character named Big Frank, who considers the widow his own personal property. Even when she marries another man, The Beast refuses to give up his pursuit. Assaulting the poor woman, he is chased into the woods by an angry mob, and it is here that he meets disaster in the form of a real beast: A ferocious lion, freshly escaped from the circus. Contemporary reviewers felt that Marie Shotwell was getting a bit too old to continue playing ingenues; they did like the lion, however.
