Synopsis by Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Wings of Fame is a witty satire targeting the transience of fame. Set in the afterlife, the movie is about a luxury hotel where recently deceased celebrities stay after their deaths. As their fame on earth declines, so do their living quarters, until they simply fade away into oblivion. The central story in Wings of Fame concerns a notoriously arrogant actor (Peter O'Toole) who arrives at the hotel with a frustrated writer (Colin Firth) whose only claim to fame is the fact that he murdered the actor.
