With his marriage apparently at an end, Lowell (Thomas Haden Church) responds to a friendly kiss on the cheek from Helen (Crystal Bernard) by asking her out on a date. Her first reaction is to laugh hysterically, but she finally agrees, and much to everyone's surprise has a terrific time. This is more than can be said for Lowell, who found the date to be excruciatingly boring! Trouble is, Lowell hasn't the heart to tell this to Helen when she reciprocates by asking him out.
