Synopsis by Janiss Garza

This short subject featuring an up-and-coming comic named Stan Laurel was released in a couple of different versions by its distributor, Universal, a one-reel and a two-reel version. In any case, Laurel plays second fiddle to a long-forgotten comedian by the name of Rube Miller (he was a Keystone Kop, and later directed two-reelers). Both comedians, in fact, were outdone by a trained elephant. When pretty Katherine (Kathleen O'Connor) checks into a posh hotel with her husband, the headwaiter, Stanley (Laurel), and an out-of-towner, Rube (Miller) both lust after her. Rube, who has gotten a job at a zoo, winds up locked in a cage with the animals because he has angered the keeper. While he's there, he decides to clean the cage, and an elephant and a bear get loose. The two beasts go to the hotel, and the elephant puts the bear in bed with Katherine. She runs off screaming, and her husband, believing the bear to be Rube, begins whacking it with a board. The angry bear chases the husband, who is soon joined by Stanley and Rube. After a hair-raising chase, Stanley and Rube swear to stay away from other men's wives.
