Synopsis by Janiss Garza

This Lubin split-reel film, like most comedies of the 1910s, made little sense and its main interest today is that one of its stars was a young Oliver Hardy, who was a dozen years away from teaming up with Stan Laurel. Chief of police Hogan (Harry Lorraine) is in love with Maggie, a cook (Frances Ne Moyer), but Maggie prefers a cop, Murphy (Hardy), as her sweetheart. The Rockerbilts are having a swanky dinner party, which is ruined when it is discovered that the wienerwursts have been stolen. Murphy comes over to investigate, but first he goes to the kitchen to see Maggie. He finds a string of dogs and believes his girl to be the thief. Duty wins out over love and he arrests her. Hogan comes by and, seeing that Murphy is holding the dogs, assumes he is the thief, and puts him under arrest. Murphy the dog thief is so reviled that everyone wants to see him hanged. Maggie appeases them with another string of dogs, but after she explains everything to them, they angrily turn on Hogan and hang him instead.
