Synopsis by Janiss Garza
This European-made film featured members of the Comedie Francais. Wallace Summers (Rene Alexandre) is first mate on his father's steamship, the Jupiter. While visiting his fiancee, Edith Richards, in Paris, he meets the famed dancer Gaby de Rose (Gabrille Robinni) and becomes infatuated with her. The two have a passionate affair but Wallace breaks it off because he is jealous of Gaby's other suitors. Gaby wants to make up, and when she decides to take an engagement in America, she books passage on the Jupiter. She and Wallace reconcile, but then a fire breaks out in the hold. Wallace encourages Gaby to dance in the salon for the passengers so that they won't know that anything is wrong. The fire is put out, and although the Captain is grateful to Gaby, he realizes there is something going on between her and his son. He has a talk with her and she agrees that she must leave Wallace. She disembarks at the first port, and Wallace finally realizes all the pain he is causing Edith. He lets Gaby go and reconciles with his fiancée.
