Synopsis by Janiss Garza

This tale of regeneration features Colleen Moore (who hadn't yet made her transition into the world of flappers) in a small but showy role. Dr. John Brandon (Lee Shumway) works in the slums until he is entranced by society girl Norma Ashley (Kathleen Kirkham). She convinces him to take his talents uptown and he establishes a practice with Dr. Thurston (William Conklin). But Brandon still wants to help the poor, and when Father Farrell (James O. Barrows) brings a street urchin in for treatment, he is more than happy to help. This does not sit well with either Norma or Thurston, however. Then Brandon discovers the two of them are having an affair and it drives him to drink and drugs. He hits bottom, and at his lowest he wanders to the San Juan Capistrano mission (these scenes were actually shot on-location at the mission). There he meets Mary Harrison, a blind girl (Moore). She and Father Farrell inspire him to start over again. He begins by operating on Mary's eyes to restore her sight, and she confesses her love for him.
