Hong Kong schlockmeister Wong Jing spins this wacky Aladdin-style comedy. Ko Sau-ping (Anita Yuen Wing-yee) is a lonely dreamer who much prefers to spend her time watching old movies than pursue a career. Tired of her lackadaisical ways, her father sets her up with a job where Pearl (Christy Chung Lai-tai), her bombshell of a half-sister, works. Pearl is everything Sau-ping is not: ambitious, confident, and bisexual. One day while on an errand for her new job, she buys three pearls that house a genie named Bolobolo (Michael Wong Man-tak). In exchange for releasing him, he grants her the requisite three wishes. Along the way, the film lampoons Wong Kar-wai's Ashes of Time and Chungking Express and a sundry of Hollywood films.
