The Way We Live on AllMovie

Produced, directed and written by Jill Craigie, the British The Way We Live is a bouquet to the citizens of Plymouth, England. During the war, Plymouth is virtually obliterated by Nazi bombs. A family (all played by nonprofessionals) has difficulty finding permanent shelter after the "all clear" is sounded. Like practically everyone else in Plymouth, the family is buried in bureaucracy in their efforts to find a home. Taking matters in their own hands, the family joins thousands of its neighbors in a protest march, demanding that action be taken immediately. As the film ends, a new Plymouth begins to rise from the ashes of the old city.
