The main characters in this British sitcom are off-and-on lovers Brenda (Emma Wray) and Malcolm (Paul Bown). Even during Malcolm's marriage to Lucinda (Elizabeth Morton), his tempestuous relationship with Brenda continued. Sideline observers to this apocalyptic battle of the sexes included Brenda's sister Pam (Lisa Tarbuck) and Pam's husband David (John Bowler).
