Synopsis by Farida Ezzat
Based on the novel by Annie Ernaux, Audrey Diwan’s sophomore feature chronicles the life of a young woman who decides to abort an unwanted pregnancy in 1960s France. When a doctor confirms the pregnancy, Anne spirals out of control, afraid that she might miss her exams when people discover she’s pregnant. In a society that represses sex and female desire, Anne must do whatever it takes to find a solution for her problem.
