Synopsis by Perry Seibert

Marlis Momber's 1978 documentary about the Lower East Side of Manhattan, Viva Loisaida, chronicles what life is like for the director and fellow immigrants. Many of them are so full of optimism that they dub the neighborhood "Loisaida" - Spanish for "hope."
