The Realart studio took this creaky, cliched old play by Eugene W. Presbey and brought the setting up to the current time, 1922, for their star May McAvoy. But the story was slim, and the role of Prudence Fairfax wasn't particularly challenging for the talented young star, who excelled in 1921's Sentimental Tommy. Prudence is the adopted daughter of bachelor Colonel Fairfax (Alec B. Francis), who never married because of a misunderstanding he had with his childhood sweetheart, Constance Llewellyn (Kathlyn Williams). Constance married someone else, but she now returns to the old plantation as a widow. Prudence decides to get the feuding couple back together, with or without their help. A subplot runs through the picture concerning Dwight Neville, a friend of the Colonel's (Richard Tucker), who is a counterfeiter. He lies to Prudence about Tom Fairfax, the Colonel's handsome nephew (Casson Ferguson). But when Neville is arrested, Prudence discovers that Tom is a good guy, and just right for her. The Colonel finally makes up with Constance, while Prudence has her own romance with Tom.
