Synopsis by Cammila Collar
In this anime TV series, the gender wars have gone to the extreme as men and women are literally battling each other. They live on separate planets and wage fierce skirmishes in space. Hibiki Tokai, the story's hero, is a third class laborer who works on an assembly line to help build the mechas used in war. Finally sick of his hum-drum and thirsty for a life of action, Hibiki breaks into the factory to steal his own mecha so that he can have the adventure he desires. The old adage "be careful what you wish for" comes to mind however, as Hibiki's action lands him in the middle of a space battle he's in no way prepared for, staring the enemy in the face. Vandread makes an attempt to balance action, romance, comedy, and ecchi, all with a space opera theme.
