synopsis
This Cuban animated cartoon feature is set in the Mafia-infested Chicago of the 1930s. Two rival gangs are engaged in a duel a mort. Both criminal groups are after the invention of an eccentric Cuban scientist: a serum that allows vampires to roam worry-free in daylight. The plot is resolved by the scientist's trumpet-playing nephew who, unbeknownst to himself, is a vampire. Vampires in Havana is hardly Disney quality (nor is it aimed at Disney's youthful audience), but it makes up in humor and pacing what it lacks in animation finesse.
