Miner Elam Harnish (Mitchell Lewis) is a burly, good-natured character who is known throughout the Yukon as "Burning Daylight." He strikes it rich and establishes a boom town. But after a pair of Eastern con artists try to swindle his fortune away, he decides to take his money to Wall Street and beat the wolves at their own game. In town, the cons rook him to the tune of $5,000,000, but Burning Daylight gets it back with the help of his gun. After that, he decides that Alaska is more his speed and heads back home. Star Mitchell Lewis always looked comfortable with an Alaskan backdrop, so it made sense to put him in this picture, which was based on the Jack London story.
