Synopsis
It is a tale of two families caught in the evolution of Chinese society due to its rapid industrialization in the past three decades. The two couples, who are close friends with each other, both have a son of the same age, but one of them accidentally drowned as a little boy. This prompts the aggrieved parents to move far away from their hometown.
