Synopsis by Caroline Griswold
Journalist Virginia Vallejo (Penelope Cruz) follows Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar (Javier Bardem) as he rises to political power at home and ships drugs to the United States. As their relationship evolves, Virginia is accosted by U.S. officials hoping she'll help nab him. Peter Sarsgaard also stars. Based on the book by Virginia Vallejo, this film is directed by Fernando León de Aranoa.
