Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
The strong-willed wife of a Confederate soldier struggles to provide for her young daughter while nursing a wounded Yankee back to health in this Civil War drama inspired by actual events. When her husband John (Bren Foster) marches off to war, devoted mother Sarah (Christine Ricci) is left alone with their young daughter Melody. Before long the war has come to her doorstep, and a Yankee soldier lies dying on her land. Unable to let him suffer, Sarah takes him in, and mends his wounds. Over time Sarah forges a bond with the soldier that is shattered when he heals, and departs for the battlefield. Meanwhile, with no word from John and their future looking grim, the mother and daughter fear the worst until a glimmer of hope appears through the darkness. Tom Berenger co-stars.
