Synopsis by Clarke Fountain

This U.S./Israeli co-production examines the pervasive distrust of all the factions in the area around Israel. In this adventure/drama, an Israeli reporter with "liberal" (pro-Palestinian) leanings learns that he has been removed from the rolls of those permitted to use their water rations, because he signed a protest petition. As there is a drought on, this is literally a matter of life or death, so he escapes into the desert just ahead of the Israeli Army. He is hoping to reach an Arab radio station which calls itself "The Voice of Freedom" and purports to tell the truth about the Arab/Israeli conflict. Along the way, he forms alliances with an Arab and a Jew who promise to help him get through both lines to the station. When they get there, the "promised land" turns out not to have been all it was cracked up to be.
