Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
Racial biases, mental illness, a morally bankrupt upper class and sleazy business execs, illegal immigrants, and workers' rights -- nothing is left out of this enormous cross-section of Hong Kong life in a story concerning a relatively innocent, rising movie star who survives the shark-infested cinema business to fall in love with a simple woman from mainland China. Unfortunately, none of the sleaze or corruption or character development carries beyond the conventions of other movies of this genre.
