Synopsis by Bernadette McCallion

Wendy Wasserstein wrote the script for this movie based on her Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning play. Jamie Lee Curtis is effectively cast as Heidi Holland, a woman on the long and often bumpy road of self-discovery from the 1960s to 1990s. The movie follows her path from high-school egghead, to feminist supporter, to intellectual art dealer/mother, and chronicles her ups and downs and revelations. This made-for-television drama was nominated for several Emmy Awards, and earned Tom Hulce a "Best Supporting Actor" Emmy for his co-starring role.
