Synopsis by Brian Gusse
Controversial German director Jorg Buttgereit (Nekromantik) came up with this story of a chain letter that brings tragedy to each of its recipients. All seven of the people who get the letter commit suicide, each one on successive days of the week. The types of images one learns to expect from Buttgereit are there (each suicide is separated by a shot of a progressively decomposing dead body) and there is a torture scene involving Nazis and castration by hedge clippers, but the film never rises (or falls, depending on your point of view) to the level of the two Nekromantik films.
