Synopsis by Nathan Southern
As youngsters, siblings Yanne and Axel were adopted by two different Norwegian families, and thus separated for years - she fell into the custody of a middle-class family on the east side of Oslo, while his foster parents were a wealthy-as-sin couple from Oslo's upper-crust west side. Unsurprisingly, Yanne evolved as a mature, confident and well-adjusted young woman, while Axel emerged as a selfish, pompous, spoiled-rotten brat. As adults, the two have no contact with one another, but Yanne longs to reacquaint herself with Axel.. Fate intervenes in the form of Maria, a Polish friend of Yanne's who commences housekeeping work for Axel's foster parents and accidentally discovers a photograph of Axel as a young boy - the same photograph she spotted on the wall of Yanne's apartment; she then decides to reunite the estranged siblings. Meanwhile, Maria also begins an ill-advised affair with Yanne's little brother, which leads to enormous complications
