Synopsis by Janiss Garza
After being released from the hoosegow, "Dallas Mike" (George Hernandez) hooks up with Allen Corey (future silent star John Gilbert, who was still in his teens here), an author in search of a story. Corey decides to sell his belongings and set out with Mike, but their wagon is overturned, and they wind up staying at a ranch owned by Esther Hollister (Fritzi Ridgeway). Mike works as a cowpuncher, while Corey receives rejection slip after rejection slip. To give his friend's stories some extra added inspiration, Mike commits a series of robberies, throwing the suspicion toward notorious outlaw "Texas Jack" (Jack Curtis). Eventually, Jack and his men are rounded up, and Mike works it out so that Corey is the one who captures them. Then, as he and Jack agreed earlier, Mike helps the outlaws escape from jail, while Corey sells his book and wins Esther, none the wiser to any of his friend's maneuvers.
