synopsis
In this French drama, an impoverished aristocrat marries a wealthy woman for her money, and the woman has an affair with a fugitive Greek communist. Soon after she bears him a daughter, the communist is killed. When the daughter grows up, she heads for Greece to learn more about her parents.
