A lyrical tale of reconciliation as told through detailed interviews with both the Native and European American individuals who first organized meetings between to cultures that had historically been at odds, Two Rivers represents a new attempt at healing age old wounds. As a collage of memoirs, letters, prophecies, and other historical materials tell the story of a nation's deeply troubled past, authentic Plateau Indian prayers and sacred songs pay testament to the rich culture of the Native Americans and poetic footage of the Methow Valley allows the viewer to consider the effects of the passage of time. In the past, attempts at reconciliation have frequently failed do to the fact that the terms were dictated by whites. In this instance, the playing field has been completely leveled so that both the whites and Native Americans in search of healing can finally work together to heal the wounds caused by racism and other, less obvious divisions.
