synopsis
Two Bits was the price for a movie ticket during the Depression era. And two bits is what young Geraldo Barone doesn't have. Geraldo lives in South Philadelphia with his widowed, underemployed mother Mary Elizabeth Mastrantanio. Dominating the household is the boy's grandfather Al Pacino, who rambles on incessantly about his imminent demise. Producer Joseph Stefano (of Psycho and Outer Limits fame) is more concerned with character than story in this leisurely, autobiographical slice-of-life domestic drama; but with characters like Pacino and Mastrantonio, a plotline is hardly necessary. Alec Baldwin narrates the film as Barone's grown-up counterpart.
