Synopsis by Janiss Garza

When Harry White (J.W. Johnston) and his wife separate, each takes one of their twin daughters (who both grow up to be portrayed by Mae Murray). Violet reaps the benefits of living with her wealthy father, while Daisy and her mother are thrown into poverty. Neither girl is aware of the other's existence On the mother's deathbed, she reveals the girl's parentage to gambler John Bent (Warner Oland). Bent manages to manipulate the fate of both girls, marrying Violet even though she is in love with Bob Anderson (Henry G. Sell), and causing the death of Daisy, who has a weak heart. After Daisy's death, he has Violet declared insane so that he can take over her fortune. But Bob rescues her from the asylum and from the evil Bent. This film was "suggested by" the novel The Woman in White) by Wilkie Collins.
