First-time Mexican writer director Ruben Imaz Castro helms Familia Tortuga (AKA Turtle Family), a gentle and sensitive drama about a family that prepares to celebrate the anniversary of a momentous occasion at the mother's house. At the center of it all is Uncle Manuel, who holds the clan together by doing all he can to help, which includes raising his brother's children and assisting his trade unionist brother-in-law.
