Synopsis by Cammila Collar
This series takes place in a different universe from all other Gundam projects. It is set in in the Seireki calendar, which is the Japanese equivalent to Anno Domini (A.D.); however, the direct English translation of the kanji character is Correct Calendar, and so the unofficial name of the universe that Turn A Gundam takes place in is Correct Century or CC. This series was directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino, the original creator of the Gundam franchise and the director of many of the first Gundam series. The original title of Turn A Gundam is actually Gundam -- the mathematical symbol known as the universal quantifier -- and its use in the name of this series can be interpreted as "For All Gundams." Yoshiyuki Tomino chose this name because he wanted this series to unify the Universal Century with all the other parallel Gundam universes that have been created over the years. Turn A Gundam is very different from other Gundam series; instead of taking place in the usual shiny, futuristic universe, it is set in a more rustic time in appearance that resembles the early 20th century.
