Synopsis by Dan Pavlides
A poor Brazilian family leaves the arid cattle country behind for a better life in the city of Sao Paulo. Trucks slowly move down the hot, dusty dirt roads as family and friends bid the travelers good luck and goodbye. Done in a documentary style, the family passes through hordes of homeless and jobless souls who wander the countryside in search of any kind of work to sustain their meager existence. Although hopes are high, there is no guarantee the move to the big city will alleviate their poverty and suffering.
