Synopsis by Janiss Garza

The one feature of this so-called Fox "special" was a terrifying storm which impressed when it was accompanied by an orchestra and off-stage sound effects, but which probably didn't play so thrillingly in smaller, lower-budgeted theaters. Betty Gibbs (Jane Thomas) marries Harry Adams, a surveyor (Harry Benham), never realizing that Eben, the village carpenter (an overacting Warren Krech) loves her from afar. Shortly after the couple have a son, Adams dies and Betty returns to her old profession of teaching. When her son, David (Bunny Grauer), reaches school age, he's so bright that it draws criticism from jealous parents. Eventually Betty dies too, and David is adopted by a mean squire (Edward Denison), who destroys his beloved books. Eben, who has left the village, returns and becomes David's pal. Together they brave the cruelties of the villagers until the little town is washed away in a furious storm. Eben and David manage to survive, and David grows up (to be played by Raymond Bloomer) and establishes churches and schools in his mother's memory.
