Tianshang caoyuan (Heavenly Grassland), is a drama about a ten-year old boy adjusting to a new life. Tiger goes to live with Shergan (Turman) and his ex-wife Baruma (Narenhua) after Shergan made a promise to Tiger's father to care for the boy while the two men were in prison together. As the beauty and harshness of their rural life bring the threesome closer together, the adults rekindle their marriage. Heavenly Grassland was screened in competition at the Montreal Film Festival.
