Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Through the Wall was based on the popular Cleveland Moffet detective yarn of the same name. The hero is master sleuth Coquenil, who applies the latest scientific methods in his fight against crime. On this occasion, Coquenil matches wits with an international criminal who specializes in sabotage. The film's highlight is the torpedoing of a luxury liner, a sequence calculated to invoke memories of the recent sinking of the Lusitania. For a Vitagraph production of this era, Through the Wall was unusually lavish and expensive-looking.
