Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Season three of Three's Company begins with yet another episode in which Jack (John Ritter) gets entangled in his own web of deceit. When landlord Mr. Roper (Norman Fell) overhears Jack making a date by phone, Jack pretends to be too sick to keep the date so that Roper won't tumble to the fact that Jack isn't gay. Unfortunately, Jack has already used his "bad cold" excuse to break an earlier date so that can he be with his current girlfriend. As a result of this tissue of lies, Jack is besieged by well-meaning roommates, landlords, and girlfriends, each of whom hopes to nurse him through his illness -- and each of whom threatens to expose him as a "serial prevaricator."
