Synopsis by Dan Pavlides
This colorful documentary follows big-game hunter and travel guide Leroy "Buster" Shebal throughout the Alaskan wilderness. Native Eskimos are shown in their daily routines and cultural rituals. The hunters set their sights on bear, moose, elk, wolves and mountain goat as well as going after the fish that abound in the many lakes, rivers and streams. Graphic scenes of killing and skinning the animals would keep this feature from being slated for young children or those who wilt at the sight of blood. The film remains an excellent documentary and travelogue for the serious hunter and fisherman. Shebal provides the narration throughout the feature, making fine use of his many years of experience in the 49th state.
