synopsis
Ginger Rogers' second film was this low-budget mystery from the poverty-row Monogram Studios. It's another standard tale of greedy heirs being killed off while trying to claim a fortune. Thirteen years before, the host of a dinner party had died, and left his estate to the 13th guest. Now the other guests find their lives in danger at the dead man's mansion, as a killer in a black hood commits electrocutions over the telephone. It's up to Rogers and a suspicious detective (Lyle Talbot) to solve the case. William Beaudine directed the 1943 remake, The Mystery of the 13th Guest.
