Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Sharply defined characters and thrilling action sequences were the distinguishing features of the British cop series Thief Takers. The title referred to the well-trained members of a London Armed Robbery Squad unit, who specialized in hunting down their quarry in helicopters and small planes. Bank robbers, jewel thieves, and kidnappers barely stood a chance when the heroes (and heroines) were on the job. Debuting over Britain's ITV in 1995, the weekly 60-minute Thief Takers remained on the air (and in the air) until 1997.
