Synopsis by Sarah Ing
Everything you always wanted to know about the West is exposed in the ten-hour documentary Wild West. From outlaws to heroes, the story is composed of many small tales. Volume one is entitled Wild West: Cowboys and disassembles the archetypes that construct the image of the West. Part one focuses on the cowboys who inhabited the great outdoors. Jack Lemmon narrates the poignant script that accompanies the archival photography. The second part, "Settlers," follows wagon trains across the Great Plains. True survivors describe both the pioneers and wranglers that first tamed the Wild West.
