Synopsis by Jonathan Crow

Francis Sung Ho-fai and David Lam Tak-luk spin this gritty street drama written by screenwriter Nam Yin of Prison on Fire fame. Frustrated with her lack of success with troubled kids in Toronto, young social worker Sandy Kwong (Olivia Cheng Man-ar) packs up her stuff and tries her luck in her native Hong Kong at the Mau tau Wei Girls' Home. She is assigned to look after a quartet of young women: Mildred Lo (Loletta Lee Lai-chun), a rich girl with a fearsome temper; Jane (Irene Wan Pik-ha), a blind lass who's main source of grief is her thuggish abusive father; Smart Ass (Charine Chan Kar-ling), a feeble-witted street walker; and Kam (Fennie Yuen Kit-ying), her bullying pimp. As she gets to know them, Sandy tries to deal with her own problems, particularly her mother who has not spoken to her in years. Later, she learns that Kam is in fact her sister.
