In this road drama filmed in English by Austrian director Diego Donnhofer, Konrad (Joey Kern) is a drifter who travels through Europe with his sister Nina (Kristy Hinchcliffe) and his companion Ito (Glenn Cruz). Konrad struggles to raise himself up from the lower rungs of life, sometimes resorting to theft, hustling, or selling drugs to support himself. But despite it all, he is able to maintain a certain beatific innocence that carries him through as he and his friends try to make their way in an unfamiliar land. The Virgin features an original score by Velvet Underground co-founder John Cale.
