Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The BBC comedy-variety series The Two Charleys was based upon Noel Coward's one-act play The Red Peppers. The title characters, Charlie and Ethal Charles (Charlie Chester, Eleanor Summerfield), comprised a husband-and-wife music hall team. On each episode, Charlie and Ethel performed a vaudeville turn, then told their audience of their most recent off-stage misadventures. The six 30-minute episodes of The Two Charleys were seen in Great Britain from April 8 to May 13, 1959.
