Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein
Having lost his hearing, a famous violinist despondently flees into the mountains in this outdoors melodrama produced by Fred J. Balshofer's Quality Pictures. Unable to hear an approaching avalanche, the violinist is rescued in the nick of time by a mountain girl (Marguerite Snow). They fall in love and marry, but the idyll is soon rudely interrupted by the arrival of Bushman's villainous relative, Lester Cuneo. The second film released by Quality (the first, The Second in Command, had also starred Bushman), The Silent Voice benefitted from Bushman's live appearances at selected theaters.
