synopsis
The Sergeant was largely filmed in Colorado, where the Selig film company had established its summer headquarters. The title character sets about to rescue his comrades (or perhaps his sweetheart), clambering over rocks and rills to accomplish this. Stopped short by a raging river, the sergeant throws caution (and his clothes) to the winds and dives in. It's a rough ride down the surging rapids, but the hero survives the ordeal and completes his mission. According to the film's interior titles, The Sergeant was set in the Yosemite Valley.
