Synopsis by Janiss Garza

This nondescript programmer came out of World Studios. Wealthy American John Steele (Montagu Love) is traveling through England when he meets Mazie Bell, an actress (June Elvidge). Steele gets to know her, and her invalid stepfather encourages her to marry him. Steele and Mazie quickly wed, but their pairing ends nearly as quickly when he comes home from a trip and finds her throwing a party in his absence. Steele returns to America, where he meets Hester (Mabel Ballin), the granddaughter of his business partner (Jack Drumier). When he reads that Mazie has been killed in a train wreck, he marries the girl. Steele and Hester are happy for five years, but then Mazie -- not dead after all -- returns with her stepfather and they make a blackmail attempt. Mazie, however, has second thoughts about her criminal activities when she sees the Steele's child. She confesses that the man she calls her stepfather is really her first husband. The husband shoots and kills her during her confession and later on he falls over a cliff in his wheelchair.
