Carol (Florence Rockwell) is a society girl and an artist, and completely bored with her safe life. When she meets Billy, a gangster (Noah Beery), she sees a way to add some excitement to her dull existence and asks him to model for her. In turn, Billy takes her around to all his low dives and introduces her to his underworld pals. She finds all this so thrilling that she asks if he can arrange a hold up for her to witness. He does, but it goes wrong and the gang is forced to kill a man. Carol realizes she has gone too far and returns to her old life. There she meets an inventor (Lionel Adams), who works with explosives, and they fall in love. But then Carol discovers it was the inventor's father who was killed in the hold up. While Carol is visiting him, he goes next door for a few moments. A spy enters and tries to steal some plans, so Carol pushes a secret switch which blows up the house, the spy and herself.
