This wasn't the first time that Viola Dana starred in a picture based on an F. Scott Fitzgerald short story. A Chorus Girl's Romance had been a popular hit, but the plot to this one was a bit light and it needed a lot of filler to make it feature-length. Ardita Farnam (Dana) is a willful society miss who thinks she knows her own mind. When her roadster is held up by thugs, Ivan Nevkova (Edward Cecil) comes to the rescue. She falls for the Russian without realizing that he's just looking for a wealthy wife. She insists on becoming engaged to him and is perturbed when her Uncle John (Edward Jobson) suggests that she meet Toby Moreland, the son of one of his friends. She obstinately refuses to be introduced. Then, while on a yachting trip, the boat is taken over by a pirate (Jack Mulhall) and his crew. Even though he tells her the story of his life, Ardita convinces his crew to mutiny and return to town. They place him on an island, but when Ardita sees he is injured, she goes after him. That's when Uncle John shows up with his friend in a revenue boat. It turns out this pirate is Toby, and the whole situation was a set-up. But that's fine by Ardita, as she has decided she prefers Toby over Nevkova.
